2) The Mishna Berura adds, that one should not fight or respond to such people, even if one has good intentions, as it is unwise to get in the habit of arguing or being confrontational. The Biur Halacha adds, that this only applies to a private situation. However, if people want to institute public practice which is against the Torah and one tries peacefully and is unsuccessful, he must use all means to stop such ideas from being implemented.
